A Pet's Home Away From Home!

Purchasing Archer Road Pet Resort, Inc. (ARPR) in 1997, Michael and Mari Lu Desjardins quickly turned a small facility into a thriving business serving clients throughout the North Central Florida area. 

Loyal pet owners and their pets have quickly become part of the ARPR family and are regularly treated to personalized services that include grooming, bathing, boarding, and lots of TLC.

With a background in animal care, landscaping, and as a caretaker of a 2000-acre reserve, Michael's expertise can be seen in the lush, groomed landscaping that surrounds the facility and animal playground. Michael considers working with animals a "fringe benefit" of a job he clearly loves.

Mari Lu's background includes experience in banking, management and business operations, animal care, and pet grooming. Her expertise and care radiates throughout the resort.  Sanitation and cleanliness are major priorities; and safe, nontoxic EPA-approved disinfectants are used throughout.  The building is heated during the winter and cooled during the summer, just like home.  Overall, the building is spotless, decorated, and truly a comfortable home away from home for animals.

Mari Lu believes every animal visiting the resort--be it for a simple bath or to stay for a week--should be treated like family. And indeed they are. Cards, letters of thanks and photos comprise a family album that includes pets from all over North Central Florida.

Michael and Mari Lu are hands-on in the day-to-day business of animal care and oversee the grooming and animal care staff that is comprised of specially trained individuals who love animals as well.  All types of dog and cat breeds are pampered with regular or deluxe baths and grooms, depending on individual preference.
