If you have any questions about your pet’s care or stay while at Archer Road Pet Resort, we’ve come up with a list of our frequently asked questions (FAQs) to help answer your concerns.

What are your rates?

Boarding

Cats are $20/night. Rates for dogs are based on weight:

Bathing

A bath includes a nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, shampoo, coat blowout, blow dry and cologne. Some breeds require extra time because of coat type and condition. These breeds/coat types will be a $5 increase to initial bathing price.

Do you offer discounts or specials?

For pets boarding together, we offer a discount of $3 off a second pet and an additional $1 off each additional pet. You will also receive 10% off boarding if your pet stays for 15+ consecutive days and 15% for 30+ days. Military and first responders will receive 5% off their bill. Also, if you download our app and scan the QR code we provide, you can receive every 6th nail trim free and every 11th daycare free!

What are your hours and when can I pick up/drop off?

Monday – Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 
Saturday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm 
Sunday: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

You may pick up or drop off at any time during open hours, but you must pick up before 11:00 am to avoid being charged for that day. Guests picking up Sunday evening will be charged for that day, but have until Monday at 11:00 am to pick up without additional charges.

Do you offer bathing & grooming?

Yes! We are a full-service grooming facility with two certified Master Groomers who can handle any breed, coat type or cut. However, we reserve the right to turn away a pet due to aggression from pet or owner.

What does a bath include?

A bath will include a nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, shampoo, coat blowout, blow dry, and cologne.

Archer Road Pet Resort is locally owned and lovingly operated by residents of Haile Plantation. The Erickson’s and the Berdanier’s, who are five people with warm hearts for cold noses! We treat your pets like family and do everything we can to ensure they want to come back time and time again. Our knowledgeable and caring staff go above and beyond to ensure that your pet’s stay is both safe and enjoyable.

Do you have boarding restrictions?

Our team is able to handle all pets regardless of age, condition or temperament provided they are not overly aggressive to people or other dogs or showing signs of contagious illness. Because we do not do group playtimes, we are able to provide aggressive pets a fun, safe place away from other pets.

Can I board my pets together?

Pets from the same family can board together provided space is available. We offer a discount of $3 off a second pet and an additional $1 off each additional pet if the pets share lodging.

Can I bring a bed or toy for my pet?

Yes, we encourage you to bring a bed, blanket and/or toy to provide some familiarity for your pet during their stay. Please label these items with your pet’s name. We suggest not bringing anything you would mind getting ruined as a pet in a new environment may exhibit behaviors that are unusual for them, such as chewing or having accidents inside. However, we will do our best to return items in original condition. If a pet has a history of bed chewing or accidents, we will provide them one of our more durable beds and save theirs for home.

Do I need to bring my own pet food?

It is recommended that you bring your pet’s own food to prevent upset tummies, but we can also feed dogs our facility food (PurinaOne Smart Blend lamb & rice dry and Pedigree wet) for $1.50 a day and cats for $1 a day (Meow Mix dry and Friskies wet).

Do you administer medication?

Yes! We can administer any type of medication. We charge $2 per administration of insulin or respiratory inhaler.

What vaccines do you require for boarding?

For dogs, we require proof of up-to-date Bordetella, distemper & parvo (DHPP) and rabies vaccines from a certified veterinarian. Cats must have up-to-date distemper (FVRCP) and rabies vaccines.

How many times a day will my dog go outside?

Dogs will have four playtimes a day — 6:30 am, 10:30 am, 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm.

Will my dog be able to play with other dogs?

Dogs are given individual, 300-sq ft, outdoor runs for playtime, where they can interact with other dogs through a fence. Each fence is cemented at the base and has a 1-ft cantilever to keep everyone safe and secure. Pets from the same family can play together.

Will my cat get playtime outside his/her cage?

Yes! Cats are individually let out of their cages during cleaning. They are free to roam the cat room, where they can get lots of love from us, play with toys or climb and scratch on cat trees.

What are your cleaning procedures?

Every pet’s lodging is thoroughly cleaned at least once a day with KennelSol, a germicidal detergent which eliminates many types of pathogens, including those which cause canine parvovirus, canine distemper, feline leukemia, feline panleukopenia, and feline picornavirus. This is followed by Odoban, a sanitizing, disinfecting and deodorizing solution. Linens, cots, and water bowls are regularly cleaned and changed to ensure your pet is comfortable, healthy and safe. We consider ourselves a cleaning facility that boards animals. 😊

What if my pet gets sick?

We follow a regular cleaning schedule as described in “What are your cleaning procedures?” Even with all the steps we take to keep our guests safe and healthy, we — like a school or child’s daycare — cannot stop the spread of every pathogen. If a pet does get sick, our first step is to call you with our recommendations and obtain your instructions on how to proceed. If we cannot reach you, we will call your emergency contact. In emergency cases, we will bring your pet to the veterinary office next door, Archer Animal Hospital, or during off-hours, to Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. However, most minor incidents and common conditions, like scrapes or loose stool, will be treated appropriately on-site. In the event a pet is taken to the vet, these services will be at the owner’s expense unless otherwise stated by management.
